Edward D. ThirkellPrincipal
Ed was born in San Mateo and raised in Burlingame. He graduated from Burlingame High School, University of California at Berkeley, and the Law School at UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall). After law school, Ed served in the United States Army as a prosecutor at Fort Ord, followed by five years as a Deputy District Attorney in the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office. His last assignment in the District Attorney’s Office was as the training deputy. He attended the National Institute of Trial Advocacy in 1972. For twenty years, Ed taught trial advocacy at the Hastings College of the Law College of Trial Advocacy. Martindale Hubble has given Ed its highest rating of AV, and he has been selected by his peers as a member of the Northern California list of Superlawyers for many years. Ed is also a member of the San Mateo County Superior Court Independent Counsel List.
Since 1976, Ed has focused his practice in estate planning, estate, trust, and conservatorship administration, as well as litigation in these areas of the law.
